the underwater commenter is referencing a completely different conversation about insisting that any feminine or gnc man must be a closeted trans woman, making inappropriate egg jokes about people you don’t know, pressuring people to come out before they’re ready, the intersection of ethnicity and race and how jewish and east asian men are stereotyped as feminine or even incapable of being masculine simply because of their ethnicity or race, and this person’s takeaway was……well, this embarrassment. they took “hey can we stop being weird abt ppl’s gender and presentation” and mangled it into “trans women are forcing people to be trans!!!” because it’s easier to demonize people, particularly racial and ethnic minorities, than it is to admit you’ve done something hurtful.
